Ryan S. Flesher, MD, is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician, screenwriter, director and producer originally from and living in West Virginia.

His peers in film and medicine recognize him as an outstanding clinician that also has a passion and desire for the human-interest story. As doctor Flesher evolves his career from medical practice to film and media, he brings a rich knowledge and an experienced eye that advertising agencies, marketing firms, medical vendors, pharmaceutical organizations and others will find invaluable as a technical consultant, creative director, writer and key team member. His varied knowledge and experience will add realism and accuracy while exploring and exposing the nuance the untrained eye often misses. Further, his training and experiences make him ideal “talent” on health or medically oriented projects.

His film education has been through various outlets including, advanced screenwriting seminars at the acclaimed Grub Street in Boston, two independent short films of his own and working on major motion pictures. He also had some trial by fire experience by making a feature length independent film in 2002, which he wrote, directed, produced and edited, all while finishing his final year of residency. He is currently in post-production on a feature length documentary, HEAL THYSELF, a view of health care from the inside.

Ryan has been featured on The Learning Channel’s Trauma: Life in the ER in which the episode was focused on the fact that a physician was making an independent film as it was on his medical cases.
