A Long Awaited Society

Posted In: (Not categorized)

As with any industry, there are intuitive thinkers who view the world from a global, macro perspective. And there are sensory thinkers who view the world from what lies before them.  There is no right or wrong, really, it is just a question of how we are hard-wired.  Given the present crisis in medicine, I believe that our global thinkers, the visionaries in medicine, are key to bringing a voice to physicians long silenced.

I steadily maintain that The Vanishing Oath is apolitical. We are not right, left, up or down. We are two people, a social worker and a doctor, who set out to show the world what has happened to those we depend upon to take care of us.

I have been watching from the sidelines to see what individuals, organizations or groups will be instrumental in advocating effectively for physicians. I recently spoke with Adam Frederick Dorin, M.D., MBA.  In one week’s time, his new website, www.AmericasMedicalSociety.com, has received overwhelming support from physicians. Dr. Dorin's business acumen and approachable manner is perhaps key to uniting physician groups across the U.S. to share in the mission of advocating for all doctors. Perhaps, for the very first time, he will succeed in providing physicians with a sense of brother/sisterhood that was stolen from them the moment they first entered the halls of medicine.

When intelligent, altruistic people are threaded together in a cause greater than themselves…step aside.

 Godspeed, Dr. Dorin.
