Emergence

Saw a purple crocus this morning.  Spring is the  jack-in-the-box underground that turns its handle round and round until the first flower pops. The first flower, that one note, becomes a symphony that makes the air feel cleaner and the sun brand new.

Timing couldn't be better.  The preparatory work for launching our film has been all about timing.  Do we want our film to become a poster child for a political party?  The Vanishing Oath is not about being left, right up or down. The film is about the future of our health and in the face of illness, political preferences mean nothing.

A few months back there was a groundswell of hostility surrounding the U.S. healthcare debate.  In the swirl of emotions, the film could have been mistaken for a hidden political agenda. Truth is, the outcome of the healthcare bill really doesn’t matter. Physicians are continuing to leave clinical medicine. The problems existed before and, trust me, they will exist afterward.

As spring awakens the earth, winter’s emotions have had time to connect with logic. When heads and hearts are in sync, communication becomes  effective.

I’d much rather open the box and take the film out into the energy and momentum of spring.
