The Vanishing Oath was selected by the New York Independent Film Festival and a pre-screening took place this past Sunday, October 25th.  Great turnout. After 3 years of working on this project, we were granted with a beautiful blue sky day. I'll take that as a nod.

     When the film was over, the response from the physicians in the audience was quite moving. Conversation never stopped from the rolling of the final credit to the long walk outdoors and all the way down the busy street. It's hard to say good-bye when words keep tumbling out and you've got to shut the door.

     For the very first time, I remember standing on the sidewalk and having this deep down feeling of I think we got it right.

     That our film resonates with physicians is most gratifying. After all, what we know about doctors as a whole is that they are truly good people. We do not, however, portend to speak on behalf of all physicians or claim to know how they think. Nobody has that right. One can only speak one's own truth and that is just what we have done. We have told a story about a physician forced to confront his disillusionment with medicine. 

     After all of the hoopla of the festival kick-off party and the pre-screening  on Sunday, I think something just got ignited by a leaping spark.
