The Round Up

Most of you have probably been to an amusement park and seen the ride called the “Round Up”. It’s the ride where you remain in a standing position, strap yourself in and hold the bars on either side of you. The ride starts to spin and escalate as centrifugal force plasters your back to the wall.
It is sort of how I look at where I am right now in the film. I am pinned to my office chair staring into my computer with a phone in my left ear and a pad of paper to my right. I am spinning in the center of a search engine, contact list and Inbox and I cannot pull myself away.
It is no wonder that Ryan and I have computers that have run aground. I’ll bet if you looked inside, our computers would look like tired, old mules. We have been bearing down on them so hard their legs have given out. Can’t blame them.
This experience has given me a whole new respect for number 2 pencils.
As we ferret out the small pieces we still need, the mosaic is coming together. I’ll tell you this - If Ryan approaches medicine the way that he does this film, medicine stands to lose. It’s funny. Ryan had no intention of actually being in the film, let alone being the main focus. We searched for doctors. No. We combed the planet and plowed through stacks of research only to come up empty.
I now realize we weren’t supposed to find another doctor to tell the story. Ryan was the one to tell it all along. He’s got the determination, the fire and most of all, he’s got the courage.
Without courage, this film would never be.
