Blogging feels like I am writing with the wrong hand. In this case: my left hand.

     In some ways, being an English major and writer has ruined me.

     I can’t sit down and simply read a book without stopping and underlining words, phrases, or, worse yet, finding typos. I can’t write emails without correcting them or giving the proper salutation before I send them off. I can’t jot a quick sticky note without being sure that I have capitalized all of the proper nouns.

     Because of this compulsive writing disorder, blogging looks like wrinkled paper to me. 

     Henceforth, I am going to try and put aside the rules. I am going to forget I ever got a knuckle sandwich from a nun for poor penmanship. I am going to shut off the voice of every professor and/or editor in my past. I am simply going to blog. Throw  it out there. Just say it. Spit it out.

    That’s just what I aim to do as soon as I change that semi-colon to a colon in the first line of this blog thank you.
