Disney Does Hopkins

Verrrry informative show. Oh, you don’t need to go to medical school to get a behind the scenes look into medicine. Just watch the new ABC medical series, Hopkins, and you’ll see what being a doctor is all about. And if you happen to be a Disney fan, you’re gonna’ love this show.
The series is described as, and I quote, “An intimate look at the men and women who call The Johns Hopkins Hospital their home.” Imagine. There is no need to even have a home if medicine is your life, I mean career. It doesn’t matter that the doctors at Hopkins (or any other hospital) subsist on stale donuts and cold fries. It’s OK that their relationships or marriages fall apart because of a lack of time and energy. It is just fine that their children barely see them. It’s all good. Why? Because they are doctors. They took a Hippocratic Oath which, in essence, is a solemn promise to sacrifice one’s own needs for the good of one’s patients.
The show does a fine job of bringing viewers behind the scenes of The John Hopkins Hospital. Who knew? There is actually a hospital where nobody has paperwork to do; there’s no shortage of nurses or support staff; the patients always understand and wouldn’t think of uttering the word malpractice. The place is amazing. Furthermore, the doctors have no interruptions or regulatory hoops in the way of getting the job done. Great hospital.
One particular medical expert who has been known to hold life in his hands, offers the following critique of Hopkins: “This show is amazing... This is real life with real doctors and is excellently put together!" Let us all thank Patrick Duffy, aka “McDreamy”, for the 4 star review.
